Last night I had a dream in which there was a sort of reunion of members of the Hermann H.S. Kammerchor (German for chamber choir). This is the smaller and audition-only choir of the school. The reunion seemed to consist of the choir as it was my freshman year since I remember a person who was a senior my freshman year at this reunion.
The odd part of the dream is that while singing a song that was ostensibly one we had sang all those years ago, I recall actually reading the music on the page. I was singing bass and I recall at one point singing a whole note low C. This was just before a page turn, then I went to a half note high C then down to the F in between for another half note. The remarkable part of all this is that I can not remember before dreaming in which I was explicitly reading sheet music. Iapos;m sure Iapos;ve dreamt about singing or playing the clarinet, but more vaguely. Had I dreamed like this before before, I thought I would have done so while in high school when I was in band and choir every day or in college when I had band three times a week. Iapos;m currently not in any musical ensemble.
